Citeos is working with start-up Pysae, which delivers automatic vehicle location (AVL) and passenger information system (PIS) solutions, to equip mobility networks throughout France. It plans to develop this new communication architecture by pooling communications channels, securing networks and streamlining costs.
Citeos, the VINCI Energies brand which specialises in energy performance, low-emission mobility and the promotion and protection of urban spaces in France, has been helping Pysae since 2019 to roll out an AVL and PIS solution for use across public transport vehicles in various French mobility networks. The solution, which connects vehicles to the internet and systems to other systems (PIS, ticketing and payment terminals and equipment, etc.), locates and tracks vehicles in real time. This turnkey service supports drivers, facilitates operation and provides passengers with real-time information thanks to geolocation technology. It keeps passengers notified at all times via their smartphones or via dedicated screens, communicating exact waiting times and the position of buses.
“So far Citeos Rouen teams have installed communication equipment in more than 500 vehicles on behalf of Transdev and RATP Dev [operators of transportation systems in France]. These deployment projects have given Citeos the opportunity to develop solid expertise in in-vehicle communications systems for buses and coaches,” explains Justin Pouille, project manager at Citeos Rouen.
In 2022, Citeos Rouen set itself the objective of consolidating its technical and commercial offering while supporting upcoming deployments across France through its network of local branches.
