Since January 2017, the reconstruction of the Pražačka transformer station in Prague Vysočany has been in operation without any significant limitations. The project and reconstruction were provided by OMEXOM GA Energo for the investor PREdistribuce, a.s.
The opening ceremony of the reconstructed transformer station took place on March 8, 2022, in the presence of PRE CEO Pavel Elis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the investor PREdistribuce Milan Hampl, Head of the Construction Preparation Section, Milan Valek, OMEXOM GA Energo CEO Zdeněk Židek and other guests.
“I am glad that the reconstruction of the Pražačka transformer station has been completed and can now be fully operational. The reconstruction work was carried out while the power supply was in operation, but with an effort to minimise the limitation of electricity supply because the substation is an important part of the power supply to Prague,” said Zdeněk Židek, CEO of OMEXOM GA Energo.
The reconstruction of the existing 110/22kV Praha – PRAŽAČKA transformer station included gradually replacing the existing 110 and 22kV substations. “In the case of the 22 kV substation, it involved the replacement of the existing switchboard with a new, gas-insulated switchboard in three sections with a total of sixty bays. The existing 110 kV encapsulated substation in single-phase design was replaced by a new three-phase encapsulated substation with seven bays,” explained Jiří Buriánek, Director of the Distribution Substation Installation Division of OMEXOM GA Energo. The project also included a complete reconstruction of the control system, protections and structural modifications to the building envelope, including new sanitary facilities and the construction of new rooms for protection and the control system.
OMEXOM GA Energo prepared both the design for the building permit and, subsequently, the documentation for the construction.
