The nineteenth VINCI Energies branch worldwide has found its home. On April 8th, it was officially inaugurated in the Czech Republic. The Academy’s main headquarters will be located in Brno, with courses also being offered in Prague. More than 1,750 employees from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will have the opportunity to receive training at the newly opened facility.
At its launch, the Academy will offer a series of training sessions as part of the career development path for positions such as BUGM, Project Manager, and Head of Support Functions. “Our goal this year is to deliver four core training sessions, namely Quartz M1, Quartz M2, Project Management, and Strategy and Marketing,” said Academy Director Lenka Crawford-Lann.
“Even before we officially launched, most of the available capacity in the initial course series had already been filled, and we’re currently adding more sessions,” she added.
The Academy will serve all perimeters operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These are part of three poles – VINCI Energies Central & Eastern Europe, VE Central & Eastern Europe ICT, and VE Deutschland – Building & Government Services.
“I believe that launching this Academy will increase both the reach and consistency of our training programs. That’s the goal we hope to achieve,” said Ladislav Urban during the official opening ceremony.
“The idea of launching this Academy began two years ago. We’re well aware that education is a key part of our work and needs to be strengthened in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” added Zdeněk Židek.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vincent Peyriere, Global Director of the VINCI Energies Academy.
“Our Academy covers 95 percent of the Group’s employees, and the Czech and Slovak branch will be the nineteenth. Next month, we’re planning to open the twentieth Academy in the Americas,” he said.
“The first Academy opened in Montesson near Paris back in 1992, and its main purpose was to share QUARTZ courses as a fundamental part of our business,” he recalled.
The Academy will be based at the training center of VARS BRNO in Brno, while in Prague, it will be hosted by OMEXOM GA Energo and OMEXOM Elektrotrans.
“We are currently preparing a training plan for 2026, which will have a national scope and will address the specific needs of individual companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” said Lenka Crawford-Lann.
The official opening of the Academy was followed by a social evening held in the greenhouse of Johann Gregor Mendel. This three-year-old structure, designed by the renowned studio Chybík & Krištof Architects, stands on the very site where the famous scientist conducted his experiments and laid the foundations of modern genetics. Prior to the evening event, participants visited the historic water reservoirs in Brno.
